I would have to say I loved using windows for business purposes and for pleasure.I first found out about Linux when I was looking into free alternatives for commercial software like the Adobe Creative suite for example.
That was when I discovered Ubuntu and threw it straight onto my old Dell Inspiron laptop to learn how to use it and support the open source community. One thing I noticed about Ubuntu is that for me it was really slow, although I like the windows xp style gnome interface and the customizing. It would occasionally freeze and I ran into bugs here and there, but for the most part it was a wonderful experience.
Once I found out about Unity being put on future versions of Ubuntu,I immediately said no way,and began looking into other distributions.I found and chose Lubuntu because it was was environment friendly, expanded my battery life, and was really fast.It was so fast I Immediately fell in love with it,and the interface was so simple.I ended up missing some of the programs I had in Ubuntu ,that wouldn't run on Lubuntu.
Overall though I would say that the change of distributions was totally worth it.What caused you to make the switch?
